VInyl rubber carpets are known because of it’s sustainable properties. In most cases, Vinyl Rubber is made by drying Vinyl-Acetate-Ethylene dispersion or redispersable thermoplastic powder. The properties of Vinyl rubber are in general:
- Stable polymer, no yellowing/cracking because of UV-exposure (no ageing)
- Low VOC polymer
- Solluble in light chemical solutions, sometimes even only water, but the separation of materials can improve by adding mild solvents or acid’s (to alkaline solution).
- Thermoplastic polymer
- Low flamable polymer, enhancing safety
- High compatible polymer with several additives, like flame retardant additives
