VAE is one of the most interesting binders to produce LOW VOC carpets. While the most common binder to adhere yarns to the back is Styrene Butadien, this comes with some disadvantages.
Styrene butadien copolymers have in general, higher VOC emissions than other binding polymers, like VAE (dispersion), PE (dispersion), or PE/PP/EVA (hotmelt).
