Flexible packaging with PLA

Our VAE products are a often used as adhesives and formulation additives that helps formulators and convertors meet a wider range of flexible packaging needs.

VAE can increase the high graphic capability, lightweight, and re-sealability.

PVAC and VAE polymers

Polyvinyl acetate-based additive systems are used for compatibilizing different biopolymers with one another, so allowing a new generation of bioplastics to be formulated. Moreover these polymers simplify processing by traditional methods.

Advantages for biobased plastics

These VAE and PVAC polymers are homo-, co- or terpolymers of vinyl acetate. The system makes materials such as starch, polylactic acid (PLA), polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA), polybutylene succinate (PBS) and cellulose acetates (CA) compatible with one another. This allows the formulator to adjust the physical properties precisely according to requirements.

Improved Physical Properties

It enables biopolymer blends to have higher impact strengths and better melt stability or are more flexible than the pure biopolymers.

No Limitations on the Main Features

The blends are just as biobased and/or biodegradable as pure biopolymers.

Suitable for food contact.

Many PVAC and VAE grades are suitable for use in food-contact applications.

Easy processing

Biopolymers can be processed just like standard thermoplastics. PVAC/VAE makes injection molding, extrusion, vacuum forming, thermoforming and calendering much easier
