Carpet

Vinyl acetate-ethylene (VAE) copolymers meet all the technical requirements for carpet-backing applications, both residential and commercial. VAE polymers are suitable for tufted-carpet broadloom and tile production, as well as needlefelt and woven applications. In addition, VAE copolymer dispersions excel in their low odor and low emissions properties, and in their superior flame resistance. VAE dispersions are available as biobased dispersions based on renewable resources. (Bio) Acetic acid and (BIO) ethylene are the main raw materials for VAE.

Benefits:

  • Low odor
  • Low emissions
  • Low flammability, reduced smoke formation
  • Good filler loading capacity
  • Excellent foamability
  • Excellent processability
  • Broad variety of formulations
  • Good tuft binding
  • Good delamination
  • Superior cut-edge stability
  • Reliable dimensional stability
  • Soft to stiff handfeel
  • Also available bio-mass balanced based (Acetic acid for now, in the future also ethylene)

Applications:

  • Tufted broadloom carpet backings
  • Tufted carpet tile backings
  • Needlefelt carpet backings
  • Woven carpet backings
